Keynote Speaker Announcement: Dr. Gregory F. Corder
2025 Neuroscience Research Day – Monday, November 3, 2025
The Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Neuroscience is pleased to announce Dr. Gregory F. Corder, Ph.D., as the keynote speaker for the 2025 Neuroscience Research Day. Dr. Corder is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Corder’s keynote presentation, titled “Pain, Poppies, Placebos, and Psychedelics: Neural Dynamics of Chronic Pain and Analgesia,” will explore the neural mechanisms underlying pain perception, opioid function, and novel therapeutic avenues for chronic pain. His pioneering work provides critical insight into how the brain processes pain and reward, with implications for understanding addiction, mental health, and the development of more effective analgesics.
The keynote lecture will take place at 1:00 PM in the Prem Sahai Auditorium (1110 MERF), followed by a reception and poster sessions highlighting student research.
Neuroscience Research Day celebrates the breadth of neuroscience research at the University of Iowa and offers an opportunity for students, faculty, and trainees to share their discoveries, foster collaborations, and engage in scientific discussion.
We invite all members of the neuroscience community to join us for this exciting event and to hear from Dr. Corder about his groundbreaking research on the neural dynamics of pain and analgesia.
